Hi!
In 2025 I plan to travel Canada, visiting all 10 provinces and two of the three territories, interviewing folks for a quilting project focused on Queer history.
As I travel, I plan to share my love of quilt making, storytelling, and activism with Quilt Guilds or Quilt Shops across Canada. I hope that this might interest you.
Here’s What I’ll Do for Each Guild/Shop:
- I will present a new BackPack Show (trunk show) using computer projections and at least 20 ‘in person’, recent quilts, at NO cost!
- I’ll conduct a half/full day workshop in support of the Canadian Quilters’ Associations 'True Colours Quilt Along', at NO cost! The workshop can be optional.
- I’ll also provide fabric, generously donated by Northcott Fabrics, for the workshops.
- There will be NO charge for travel costs to or from my home in southeastern Ontario.
Here’s What I Want in Return:
- I want your willingness to work with me to find a mutually acceptable date during the time that I am in your area. This may or may not be your usual meeting date. The BackPack (trunk) show and the workshop can be the same day, but they don’t have to be.
- I want your Guild/Shop to provide a place for us to meet.
- I want permission to accept donations from anyone who might want to donate. I will simply point out that there is a box for donations.
- I’d like overnight accommodation (a billet) for me, with breakfast. Since I plan to camp for much of the trip, this will be a luxury.
I am excited by this opportunity to share quilting, community, and storytelling, while celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion. I hope that you are as well.
Please reach out with any questions or comments or to book a date.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Bill Stearman
